MESA, Ariz. - The men's and No. 9 women's cross country teams will send several members to Tempe this weekend to take part in the ASU Invitational at Toka Sticks Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz.

The Mizzou cross country team will return to action this Saturday (Oct. 2) as it takes part in the Greater Louisville Invitational on Saturday morning (Oct. 2) at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. The meet begins at 9:30 a.m. and will feature teams from all around the nation, most notably from the ACC and SEC. Notable opponents include Georgia, Louisville, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech. The men will run an 8K while the women will run a 5K.

The University of Notre Dame's men's and women's cross country teams head into the 2010 season with experienced runners and a positive attitude. Both teams return several of their top seven runners from the 2009 campaign, in addition to welcoming a talented group of freshmen.

Roanoke’s Cross Country team participated in the Randolph Invitational Wednesday afternoon in Lynchburg, Va. The men won the event, as they finished with 29 points, just ahead of Lynchburg with 36 points. The women placed second with 49 points, trailing the Hornets with 27 points.

The Georgetown University cross country program is again touted to be among the best in the country this season with the US Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association releasing its preseason national and regional rankings this week. The Hoya women were tabbed 11th in the country while the men were ranked 16th in the nation.
