There's something about Drake Stadium that lends itself to fast starts for Dorcas Akinniyi. Now it's just a matter of carrying that momentum to the finish for Akinniyi, who positioned herself remarkably well on the opening day of the heptathlon at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
With personal-best performances in the 60-meter hurdles, high jump and 800 meters, Dorcas Akinniyi went on to post a career-high score of 4,254 points and again earn All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the pentathlon at Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium in College Station, Texas.
