Louisville, KY- The Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) will host 115 colleges and universities from 24 states in the 11th Annual Greater Louisville Classic (GLC), which for the first time in the 11 year history should be the largest college meet contested in the United States in 2012.
Manhattan College welcomed Olympic champions Cullen Jones, Nastia Liukin and Amanda Beard, as well as the Jaspers' own Lindy Remigino '53, Aliann Pompey '99 and Joe Ryan '81 to campus as a part of the first-ever Olympic Week Lecture Series from Sept. 17-21. The event was sponsored by Manhattan's Office of Student Activities.
Olympic champions Cullen Jones, Nastia Liukin and Amanda Beard, as well as Manhattan College alumni Lindy Remigino '53 and Aliann Pompey '99 and Jaspers assistant track & field coach Joe Ryan '81 will speak with the Manhattan community about their Olympic experiences during a week-long lecture series sponsored by the Office of Student Activities. Each lecture begins at 8 p.m.
Bridgette Ingram has been hired as an assistant track & field coach at Manhattan College. A two-time ECAC champion in the heptathlon, Ingram will work primarily with the Jaspers' jumpers.

Former Manhattan College track & field star Aliann Pompey was eliminated in the semifinal round of the women's 400 meters at the 2012 London Olympics from Olympic Stadium on Saturday. Needing to finish among the top two in her heat, Pompey placed eighth in a time of 52.58 seconds.
