Bryn Campbell, a senior at Canal Winchester High School, has chosen to continue his academic and throwing career at Ashland University. Bryn qualified to the OHSAA State Track and Field Championship in the discus throw last season, but his speciality lies in the Hammer Throw, an event not contested in the OHSAA trounament. Bryn placed 6th at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in the Hammer Throw with a toss of 195-2. Bryn also throws the 25lbs. Weight and qualified for the OATCCC State Indoor Track and Field Championship during the 2011 indoor season.
Grand Valley State University has hired Blaine Maag as a throwing coach for its track & field program.
Maag competed in throws events during his collegiate career at Ashland and was part of four Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship teams. Maag was also a standout thrower and running back at Columbus Grove High School.

NEW ORLEANS – Bolstered by the return of Galen Rupp, Oregon won its second straight Pacific-10 Conference title on Saturday and swept the first-place votes in this week’s Division I men’s cross country poll.Stanford maintained its top national ranking by winning a highly competitive Pacific-10 Conference women’s cross country championship race Saturday in Corvallis, Ore. The top-ranked Cardinal defeated three other teams ranked in the top seven to collect its 12th straight conference title.

NEW ORLEANS – After one of the bigger competition weekends of the season very few teams have changed spots. All eight men’s and all eight women’s top-ranked teams stayed the same in this week’s poll as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The polls were highlighted by the North Central region’s teams which picked up four wins over the weekend, two each for the men and women, while a fifth team nearly defeated the defending Division I women’s champs at home. Grand Valley State in the Great Lakes region also picked up wins at Notre Dame in the men’s and women’s Division II races. Abilene Christian’s men of the South Central region also came away with a tie for first place at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree. The Wildcats finished four points ahead of Division I power Arkansas.
NEW ORLEANS – Five teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference are ranked among the top 25 in the third Division II men’s cross country poll of the 2007 season.
NEW ORLEANS – After three weeks of competition very few teams have yet to lose their top ranked status in the NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s regional cross country rankings that were announced today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Several teams have held out some of their top runners in the early meets this season. The upcoming weekend features some of the bigger meets such as the Roy Griak Invitational and the Bill Dellinger Invite which should provide some light on the top teams in the country. This week’s notable changes have come in the South Region where Florida Southern’s men and Alabama-Huntsville’s women have moved up to the top spot. Harding’s men and women were last week’s top-ranked teams in the men’s and women’s region.
