Mayhew, Bayer, Ginther Move Up 3K Lists

Indiana track and field closed out the Hoosier Hills with big times in the men's and women's 3,000m invitationals. Zach Mayhew and Andy Bayer finished 1-2 in the men's race with the top two times in the Big Ten, and Samantha Ginther took the conference lead as well, winning the women's race. Drouin Garners Third Weekly Big Ten Honor of Season

Indiana track and field's Derek Drouin produced the fourth-highest jump in the world this season at the Hoosier Hills. For his efforts, Drouin has claimed Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season and the eighth time in his career. Indiana has reeled in eight awards in six meets this season.  (via www.iuhoosiers.com)

Drouin Advances to No. 4 in the World, Leads NCAA

Senior Olympian Derek Drouin jumped from sixth to fourth in the world Friday night at the Hoosier Hills Invitational after he easily cleared a height of 2.32 m (7-7.25) in the high jump, which won the event (video below). His performance also raised the bar for NCAA high jumpers as Drouin now leads the collegiate world and holds the facility record at Gladstein Fieldhouse, previously set by Mark Reed in 1988 at 2.31 m (7-7). Creese Named Big Ten Athlete of the Week

Thanks to a school-record and personal-best effort in the mile, sophomore Robby Creese (Mount Airy, Md.) has been named Big Ten Athlete of the Week. Creese zipped to a sizzling 3:57.11 for the mile at the Husky Classic at the University of Washington last weekend. His performance is currently the second fastest in the NCAA this year. Clemson documents outline NCAA track violations

A Clemson's men track athlete ran in five indoor meets after his eligibility was complete and a women's track team member received impermissible school expenses from former program director Lawrence Johnson while training for a foreign Olympic team. (via The Greenville News)
