EUGENE, Ore. ? Iowa State freshman Jordon Andreassen's five personal records paved the way for the Polk City native's third-place finish in the heptathlon at the USA Junior Track and Field Championships.
Andreassen set personal records in the 100-meter hurdles (14.68 seconds), and 800-meter run (2:27.72), 200-meter dash (25.95), long jump (16 feet 10 ? inches) and shot put (32-6 ?) The freshman also set a personal record in the heptathlon with 4,726 points.
Freshman Kianna Elahi finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.62.
Freshman Dan Newhouse finished thirteenth in the javelin throw (185-11).
