HANOVER, N.H. – Sophomore Elizabeth Short (North Reading, Mass.) paced the Dartmouth women's cross country team to a second-place finish after crossing the line in fourth overall.
Short finished the 5k course in 20:38.90 and was one of four top-10 Big Green athletes. Joining Short was freshmen Kailtyn D'Orazio (York, Maine) and Amy Schuman (Lee, N.H.), who competed in their first collegiate event. D'Orazio took sixth with a time of 20:45.20, while Schuman ran the course in 20:46.30 to finish seventh.
Senior Laura Tabor (Portsmouth, N.H.) was the fourth Dartmouth harrier to finish in the top-10 as she crossed the line in 10th with a time of 20:50.20
Boston College took home the team title with 28 points, while Dartmouth finished second with 41. Quinnipiac was the third and final team in the event and the Bobcats ran up 65 points.
Leading Boston College to the team title was a pair of freshmen. Jillian King won the individual event with a time of 20:08, while classmate Grace Rodriguez was not far behind with a second-place finish at 20:24.80. Quinnipiac's top finisher was Morgan Roche, who took third finishing the course in 20:31.70.
The Big Green have a long lay-off until the team competes again, which is Oct. 2 at the Paul Short Invite at Lehigh.
