CINCINNATI, Ohio - The NAIA #12 Yellow Jackets began their 2009 season by placing 3rd out of nine schools at the 5K Queen City Invitational.

It took a couple of NCAA Division I programs to beat Cedarville. Xavier won the meet with 37 points while Cincinnati was next with 56. The Jackets had 85 to outrun Bellarmine, 93, and Northern Kentucky, 131.

Evan Thayer was CU's top finisher placing 14th in 16:06. Josiah Bragg made his collegiate debut with a 19th-place showing in 16:14.

#T.J. Badertscher# was 20th in 16:16. Rounding out the top five Yellow Jacket finishers were Jordan Davies (22nd; 16:19) and Rob Trennepohl (25th; 16:21).
