AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State men's and women's cross country teams were both spotted in the first set of rankings put out by the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Cyclone men are ranked 25th in the country and fourth in the Midwest region. The Iowa State men are one of three Big 12 schools to be ranked in the preseason top 30.

The Cyclone women are ranked 28th in the country and third in the Midwest region. The Iowa State women are one of four Big 12 schools to be ranked in the preseason top 30.

The Iowa State cross country team will play host to its first and only home meet of the 2009 season, Saturday at the Iowa Intercollegiate on the ISU Cross Country Course. The women's 6,000-meter race will begin at 11 a.m., and will be followed by the men's 8,000-meter race at 11:45 a.m.
