AMES, IOWA --  Senior Anthony Pettaway (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was fourth in the 300-meter dash (35.15) and fifth in the long jump to key the Drake men's track and field team in its season opening indoor meet at the Iowa State Holiday Classic Friday.

Pettaway leaped 21 feet 11.50 inches in the long jump and came back to anchor Drake to a third-place finish in the 4x300-meter relay in 2:23.25.

Sophomore Shaun James (Lawrence,Kan.), freshman Dan Karys (Bartlett, Ill.) and sophomore Jon DeGrave (Lake Villa, Ill.) also ran legs on the 4x300 relay.

Sophomore Charlie Lapham (Golden Valley, Minn.) was fourth in the mile (4:25.13). Sophomore Eric Hall (Des Moines, Iowa) was sixth in the 60 hurdles (8.87).
