Cornell Sees 10 Named to Fall Academic All-Ivy Team

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League released its list of student-athletes selected for All-Ivy Academic honors in fall sports this week. The 80 men and women were starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with 3.0 or better cumulative grade point averages. Each institution nominated five men and women from its eligible student-athletes. For the all-time Academic All-Ivy list; please click here.

Cornell's Honorees

Matt Bouraee – Senior – Men's Soccer
* First-Team All-Ivy; Led Cornell in scoring with 16 points on five goals and six assists; Finished career tied for seventh all-time with 48 points.

Scott Brody – Junior – Men's Soccer
* Played nearly 1100 minutes, posting a 1.40 goals-against average and a .770 save percentage; Finished with 57 saves, tied for fourth in the Ivy League, despite not playing in the last five games of the season.

Chris Costello – Senior Football
* CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-District; First-Team All-Ivy; Finished second in the league and 13th nationally in tackles (104).

Brett Sumpio – Junior – Men's Soccer
* Scored two goals and added a pair of assists for six points, tying his career high.

Bryan Walters – Senior – Football
* Second-Team All-Ivy as a wide receiver and a return specialist; Finished career as the Ivy League's all-time leader in career punt return yardage (972) and kick return yardage (2,790).

Katie Kirnan – Senior – Field Hockey
* Started all 15 games helping Cornell to a 10-5 record; Ranked third on the team with nine points on four goals and one assist.

Megan Mushovic – Senior – Volleyball
* Finished career as the Ivy League's all-time career dig leader (2,040); Ranked first in League games only this season with 5.63 digs per game.

Stephanie Pancoast – Senior – Women's Cross Country
* Second-Team All-Ivy; Finished ninth at the Ivy Cross Country Championships; Finished 12th at the NCAA Northeast Regional to garner All-Region honors.

Lena Russomagno – Junior – Women's Soccer
* Team captain; Anchored Cornell defense that allowed 10 fewer goals overall 11 fewer goals in Ivy play from previous season.

Kate Thompson – Junior – Field Hockey
* Started all 15 games; Registered two goals and two assists for six points.
