LAWRENCE, KAN. -- Sophomore
Colin Hagan (Wichita, Kan.) finished third in the 1,000-meter run to pace the Drake men's track and field team at the Jayhawk Invitational Friday.
Hagan was clocked in two minutes 34.4 seconds. He also anchored Drake to a fifth-place finish in the distance medley relay in 10:25.65.
Drake sophomore
Charlie Lapham (Ottumwa, Iowa) was fourth in the 800 in 1:57.6, while senior
Jeff Grassmeyer (Fremont, Neb.) was sixth in 1:58.8. Grassmeyer also ran on the distance medley relay, along with junior
Brandon Lewis (Plymouth, Minn.) and junior
Kevin Earl (Overland Park, Kan.).
Freshman
Owen Sadewasser (Guttenberg, Iowa) tied for fifth in the high jump at six feet 4.75 inches.
Sophomore
Shaun James (Lawrence, Kan.) was sixth in the 200 in 22.4, with sophomore
Jon DeGrave (Lake Villa, Ill.) tied for 11th in 22.8. Earl was 13th in the 400-meter dash in 52.19.
Junior
Colin Coomer (Overland Park, Kan.) was seventh in the 3,000 (9:09.7) followed by sophomore
Ben Jaskowiak (Madison, Wis.) who was ninth (9:16.9) and junior
Luke Schafer (Centennial, Colo.) who was 13th in 9:30.
Freshman
Dan Karys (Bartlett, Ill.) was 10th in the long jump at 21-5.5, while senior
Anthony Pettaway (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was 12th in 21-2.25.
DeGrave, James, Karys and Pettaway led Drake to a fifth-place finish in the 4x400 in 3:27.71.
Freshman
Isaac Twombly (Baldwin City, Mo.) was 15th in the weight throw at 43-10.75.
