BLOOMINGTON, IN -
Strong efforts from the jumps team helped the University of Toledo track and
field team to a solid finish on the second day of the unscored Indiana Relays
Saturday in Bloomington, IN.
Junior Alexandra Afloari (Deva, Romania) claimed another victory in the triple jump, winning with a leap of 39-05.25. Freshman Kiah Douglas
(Saginaw, MI) finished fourth in the long jump at 18-00.50. Senior Michelle Sutherland (Maumee, OH) took
fifth in the high jump (5-05.00), while Jaime Gittens placed seventh in the triple jump.
Meanwhile, sophomore Julie Snyder (Celina, OH) made it through the prelims and the semis and took sixth
in the 60 meter hurdles in 8.98. Freshman Sarah Woodrum (Marion, OH) placed ninth in the 400 meters in 57.64
The Rockets also competed in the 4x400 meter relay, taking
fifth out of 12 teams in 3:53.84. The relay was comprised of junior Kimara Morgan (Columbus, OH), junior Amanda Kaverman (Sylvania, OH), junior Danielle Jacoby (Carey, OH) and
Woodrum.
Toledo is off next weekend and returns to action Feb. 12 and
13 at The Big Meet in Allendale, MI.
