AMES, Iowa - Senior Katie Nowak (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake H.S.) earned Bradley's top finish at the final day of the ISU Classic at Iowa State's Lied Recreation Center Saturday. Running her first 800-meter of the season, Nowak finished 11th in the non-seeded race with a time of 2:15.52. She missed cracking the top-10 by less than one-tenth of a second.
Junior Leann Murphy (Rochester, Ill./Rochester H.S.) also ran her first 800-meter of the season Saturday, claiming 36th in the non-seeded race in 2:19.85. In the seeded 800-meter race, junior Mary Goldkamp (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North H.S.) took 28th with a time of 2:18.05.
Bradley's final competitor, freshman Nicole Benson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone H.S.), set a new season-best in the seeded 3,000-meter run. Benson surpassed her top time by 34 seconds, finishing 23rd in 10:16.30.
The Braves will return to action Friday, Feb. 19 at the Iowa Invitational.
