KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State men's cross country and track field programs have signed Dylan Swafford of Central Christian Academy in Macon, Ga., to an athletic scholarship beginning in the fall of 2010, the department announced on Thursday.

Swafford, who is expected to compete in distance events during indoor and outdoor track season in addition to competing for the defending Atlantic Sun Conference men’s cross country champions in the fall, ran a personal best time of 16:29.63 for 5000 meters to win the Georgia Indpendent Schools Association Class 3A state cross country meet on October 31.

“Dylan is a good local runner who we feel will develop into an impact runner for us when he joins our program in the fall,” said Owls cross country head coach Stan Sims.

Swafford will join an Owls squad that returns seven of ten runners from its A-Sun Championship squad for 2010.
