Women Lead After Day One

Four Second Place Finishes Propel Owls to the Top

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Kennesaw State Owls women’s track and field program went through the first day of competition at the Atlantic Sun Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships without winning an event, but the depth of performance from the entire squad has put them in first place through the first day of competition, with a total of 68.5 points. They lead four-time defending champion Jacksonville, who has 62 points through the first day of competition.


Mackenzie Howe (3000 Meters- 10:03.45), Suzzette Van-Lare (Long Jump- 19-5.25),    Christie Leverette (Pentathalon-3458) and Jakia Ragland (High Jump- 5-6) all paced the Owls with runner-up finishes in respective events, while their teammates recorded six other top-five finishes to put them in front.
