Brost Sets New Pole Vault Record at Last Chance Qualifier

AMES, Iowa ? North Dakota State sophomore Leslie Brost broke her own school record in the pole vault at the Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday, March 6.

Brost cleared 13-10 ½ to improve her school record and NCAA provisional mark by half an inch and finish third.  She was just shy of the NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 13-11 ¼.

Junior Christine Bruins improved her NCAA provisional time to 2:08.11 in the 800 meters.  With the new personal best time, Bruins is now ranked fourth all-time at NDSU.

Junior Whitney Carlson ran an 8.56 in the 60 meter hurdles preliminaries.  She also competed in the long jump, finishing with a mark of 20-6 ¼.

At-large bids for the NCAA Championships will be announced Tuesday, March 9.
