High Point University will begin featuring several blogs on highpointpanthers.com starting this spring. The blogs will give fans a different perspective about events and people involved with HPU sports.
The
Panthers Baseball Blog will feature weekly updates from senior outfielder
Matt Gantner and freshman pitcher
Zach Haile. Gantner will check in Mondays while Haile's posts will usually come on Thursdays, depending on scheduling. So far in 2010, the Panthers are off to the best start in HPU's Div. I era.
Senior distance runner
Jesse Cherry from the men's track & field team will keep fans up to date each week with his blog
On Track With Jesse Cherry. Cherry is in his fifth year at High Point University and owns HPU records in the indoor 5,000 and outdoor 10,000-meter. He is trying to qualify for the NCAA Championship in the 10K this season.
Finally, High Point University men's basketball broadcaster Jason Benetti will give his take about HPU Athletics and will give updates about his other job as play-by-play broadcaster for the Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs in his
Panthers Offseason Radio Blog. Benetti recently finished off his fourth season as play-by-play man for the HPU men's basketball team, and this summer he will be beginning his first full year as lead broadcaster for the Chiefs.
Check back often for updated posts in each blog, and look for more blogs to be added in the future.
