Bangert Second In Long Jump At Tom Botts Invitational

COLUMBIA, MO. - Senior Josh Bangert  (Washington, Mo.) finished second in the long jump to highlight action for the Drake men's track and field team at the rain-shortened Tom Botts Invitational Friday.

Just three events were held in the men's division with the majority of events being postponed until Saturday because of inclement weather.

Bangert, who was runner-up in the 2010 Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship, soared 21 feet 8.25 inches. Drake freshman Dan Karys (Bartlett, Kan.) was third in 21-6.25

Junior Colin Coomer (Overland Park, Kan.) finished sixth in the men's 3000 steeplechase in 10 minutes 1.88 seconds. Freshman Isaac Twombly (Baldwin City, Kan.) was tenth in the discus at 122-8.
