IOWA CITY, IOWA -- Drake junior Beth Hamling (Council Bluffs, Iowa) continued an impressive spring on the track by winning the 100-meter dash in 12.52 seconds at the Iowa Invitational Saturday.
Drake junior Tyse Samani (Kansas City, Mo.) won the high jump at 5-5, with freshman Briana Isom-Brummer (St. Louis, Mo.) tying for fourth at 5-3. Junior Michelle Mitchell (Brookfield, Wis.) was sixth at 5-1.
Senior Deidra Dirth (Apple Valley, Minn.) was second in the discus at 152-5 and third in the javelin at 107-10.
Junior Cambria Pardner (Aurora, Colo.) was third in the 100 in 12.64, while freshman Kelly Hendricks (Prospect Heights, Ill.) was fourth in 12.83.
Pardner also was third in both the long jump (16-6) and triple jumps (35-10.75).
Freshman Sarah Yeager (Ottumwa, Iowa) was fourth in the 100 hurdles in 14.74 and sixth in the 400 hurdles in 1:05.18. Isom-Brummer was fifth in 15.44.
Hamling and Yeager ran the third and fourth legs, respectively, on the
4x100 and 4x400 relay teams which placed second. The 4x100 was timed in
49.81, while the 4x400 ran 3:59.08.
Drake freshman Marissa Smith (Ajax, Ontario, Canada) was fifth in the 200 in 26.88 with freshman Emily James (Clive, Iowa) sixth
in 26.98.
Freshman London James (Adair, Iowa) was fifth in the 3,000 in 11:15.56.
Senior Caitlin Able (Aurora, Colo.) was fifth in the 400 in 58.28, while Clarissa LaFlora (Kewanee, Ill.) was sixth in 59.52.
