ITHACA, N.Y. -- Competing at different venues across the Northeast, the Cornell men had some strong performances this weekend. The Big Red had athletes competing at Princeton, Cortland and Moravian, picking up numerous outstanding performances.
The team's top middle distance and distance runners got things under way for Cornell at Princeton on Friday night. The squad excelled as the 10 runners produced 8 outdoor personal bests times, 4 IC4A qualifying times, and two alterations to the all-time top 10 list.
In the 800, freshman
Nick Wade, who smashed school records indoors in the 800 and the 1k, ran his first 800 of the outdoor season and his first two lapper of the spring was a successful won as he was the 2nd collegian across the line in 1:49.99, making him the 7th fastest in Cornell history. Fellow freshman
David McCuiston finished 2nd in his heat in 1:54.25.
In the 1500, junior
Adrien Dannemiller got ready for the Penn Relays steeplechase with an impressive 3:46.93 clocking, knocking some 1.6 seconds off his previous best. The time makes him the 9th fastest performer in Cornell history. Seniors
Charlie Hatch and
Owen Kimple also had Ic4a qualifiers and personal bests in the event as Hatch ran 3:48.02 and Kimple 3:48.77. Freshmen
Andy Arnold (3:51.99) and Will McFall (3:54.56) also lowered their personal bests in the 1,500. In the steeplechase, sophomores
Teddy Brinkofski and
Chandler Kemp set PRs of 9:17.31 and 9:29.66.
The team's top sprinters and jumpers battered cold and extremely windy conditions at a meet on Saturday at Moravian. Before departing home early due to the cold conditions, the team put up some creditable performances and took home five event wins.

Jedidiah Adarquah-Yiadom, sophomore
Chase Aaronson and freshman
Bruno Hortelano-Roig won in 41.25. In the 400, Cornell took four of the top five spots led by senior Marcel Van Eeden who won in 48.58 as junior
Brian Freitas was 2nd in 48.75.
Sophomore
Nick Huber ran and won his first 400 hurdle race of the year in 53.94 as senior
Jason Inzana won the pole vault in 15'5”.
Sophomore
Chris Arlinghaus had an outdoor PR 6'7.5” to win the high jump as senior
Jay Pierce returned from injury to place third 6'5.5”.
The long jump featured a great battle between past and current Cornell greats as Muhammad Halim '08 edged senior
Duane Teixeira by 1.5 inches with a leap of 24'9.75”. In the triple jump, Halim took the top spot with a 52'4” jump compared to Teixeira's 48'5” runner-up performance.
The men's throwers as well as a few other Cornell team members competed at the Cortland Classic this weekend. Leading the way was freshman
Robert Fiedler who had a massive PR by more than 7'9.5” as he threw 176'6.5” in the hammer to record an IC4a qualifier.
Event winners at Cortland included sophomore
Bob Belden, who won both the discus (50.27m) and shot put (16.08m), freshman Zach Zeller, who won the 110 hurdles (16.1 seconds) and placed third in the 400 hurdles (57.3 seconds), junior
Chris Tait, who won the 200 in 22.1 seconds, junior
Enbani Moore, who won the long jump in 6.78m, and senior
Scott Gorski, who won the high jump with a mark of 1.88m. The 4 x 100 relay also was victorious in 44.0.
