NORMAL, Ill. - Led by seniors Tracy Lotter (Winnebago, Ill./Winnebago H.S.) and Amanda Switzer (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem H.S.), the Bradley women's track & field team earned nine top-10 finishes Saturday at the Redbird Invitational hosted by Illinois State University.
The Braves opened the meet with three top-10 places in the 5,000-meter run as junior Lauren Fog (Harvard, Ill./Harvard H.S.) claimed eighth with a time of 18:48.21, followed by Switzer in ninth at 18:56.34 and Lotter in 10th at 19:21.37. Bradley's sophomore high jump tandem of Lyndsey Cleghorn (Oswego, Ill./Oswego H.S.) and Kourtnie Janson (Cambridge, Ill./Cambridge H.S.) also picked up top-10 finishes Saturday. Cleghorn took sixth by jumping a height of 1.55 meters, while Janson tied for ninth by clearing 1.50 meters.
Freshman Nicole Benson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone H.S.) earned Bradley's top place of the day in the 1,500-meter run as she crossed the finish line in second with a time of 4:39.75. Lotter followed in seventh at 5:04.56 and Switzer was ninth at 5:06.31.
Sophomore sprinter Tatierra Bivens (Chicago, Ill./Marist H.S.) capped the invite with an eighth place finish in the 100-meter dash at 13.36.
