Sophomore Christina Fenske finished third in the high jump at the Tony Waldrop Tar Heel Invitational on Saturday in Chapel Hill, N.C. Sophomore Manika Gamble also competed in the Invitational, finishing ninth in the 200-meter.

Fenske cleared 5-5 to finish behind UNC's Patience Coleman, who jumped 5-8.75, and Ariel Roberts. Gamble finished the 200 with a time of 25.05 to finish ninth on the day. The time was just .12 second off the sophomore's season-best time of 24.93, which she ran on the same track at the Carolina Fast Times meet.

Fenske's top jump fell three inches short of the mark needed to qualify for the NCAA Regional meet. Competitors with the top 24 marks in each region will qualify for the first round of the NCAA Championship.

Gamble is already locked in for the 400-meter hurdles by virtue of her HPU-record time of 58.56 at the Pepsi Florida Relays on April 2. Her time ranks 24th in the nation going into this weekend. Gamble won that event and placed second in the 100-meter hurdles at the Big South Championship.
