Sang honored by USTFCCCA


NEW ORLEANS – ACU senior distance runner Amos Sang has been named the South Central Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year, according to the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches' Association.

Sang, a senior from Eldoret, Kenya, is the nation's top-ranked 5000-meter runner with a time of 13:50.77.  Sang is also entered in the national meet in the 10,000 meters, an event in which he is the No. 2 seed with a time of 29:15.58.

Sang won four titles at the Lone Star Conference championship meet earlier this month, scoring 40.5 points or the Wildcats to help them to their 17th straight conference championship.  Sang won the 800 meters, 1500 meters, 5000 meters and 10,000 meters.
