NEW ORLEANS – Fifteen ACU men's and women's track and field athletes earned NCAA Division II all-America status after helping the Wildcats to a pair of top-four finishes last month at the NCAA Division II outdoor track and field championships.
The ACU men's team, which finished second at the meet to rival St. Augustine's, had seven all-America athletes, while the women had eight all-America athletes. The ACU women finished fourth at the national meet.
Amos Sang won a pair of NCAA Division II national championships as he won both the 5000 and 10,000 meters to earn a pair of all-America awards.
Ramon Sparks earned all-America status in both the triple jump and long jump, while
Desmond Jackson was an all-America in both the 100 meters and the 200 meters. Other all-America selections for the ACU men's team were
Aaron Cantrell (pole vault),
Landon Ehlers (pole vault),
Tyler Fleet (discus) and
James Hardin (decathlon).
On the women's side,
Linda Brivule became the first NCAA Division II athlete to win three straight individual national championships in the javelin, and she earned her third straight all-America notice in 2010. Senior sprinter
Wanda Hutson earned all-America honors in both the 100 meters and as part of the 4x100 relay. Other all-America selections for the ACU women's team were

Joella Foster (4x100 relay),
Paige Newby (national champion in the discus),
Kim Prather (4x100 relay),
Jessica Sloss (hammer) and
Sydney Smith (4x100 relay).
