Braunsdorf Earns Academic All-District Honors

DES MOINES, IOWA - Drake senior Nicole Braunsdorf (St. Francis, Wis.) has been named to the CoSIDA/ ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America University Division District 7 second team in women's track and field.

Braunsdorf owns a 3.73 grade-point average, majoring in journalism. Braunsdorf closed out her collegiate career by competing in the 1,5000 meters at the recent NCAA West Regional in Austin, Texas.

She was fifth in the 1,500 at the 2010 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference outdoor meet in 4:31.80. Braunsdorf also posted a personal best in the 1500 at the Drake Relays in 4:28.81.

Voting for the All-America programs is conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. Three Academic All-District teams are chosen in each district, with those on the All-District first teams placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

District 7 includes universities from the states of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
