Four Post National Qualifying Efforts at Dr. Keeler

May 14, 2010-- Four athletes recorded national qualifying marks as the North Central College women's track and field team hosted the Dr. Keeler Invitational Thursday and Friday at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

Rachel Secrest and Amanda Laesch highlighted Thursday's events, each recording national qualifying performances. Secrest hit the automatic qualifying mark in the pole vault, clearing 12 feet 8 inches to finish second overall and first among collegiate competitors. On the track, Laesch shaved over 11 seconds off her previous season best in the 5,000-meters, finishing eighth in a provisional qualifying time of 17:22.53.

On Friday, Brandye Jackson clocked a provisional qualifying time in the 100-meter hurdles, placing sixth while in the high jump, Michelle Criscione cleared a provisional qualifying height of 5'5" to finish runner-up in the event.

North Central hosts the Gregory Multi-Events on Tuesday and Wednesday before closing out the pre-championship season on Thursday and Friday, hosting the Gregory Invitational.
