DES MOINES, Iowa- Kennesaw State Owls throws specialist Suzee Mills placed 15th in the Discus Throw at the US Junior Nationals on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday, launching a top throw of 45.01 meters (147’8”).

Mills, who is the Atlantic Sun Conference Outdoor champion in the Discus Throw, fell short of her qualifying throw of 45.85 Meters, which she achieved during her championship performance. She also competed in the Hammer Throw on Thursday, but did not post a distance, as she fouled on all three attempts.

The US Junior Nationals are open to any competitor who will not turn 20 years of age at any time during 2010. This is the second consecutive year that the Owls were represented at the US Juniors. Suzzette Van-Lare (Triple Jump) and Jemir Martinez (100 Meters) both competed in the event in 2009, becoming the first Owls to do so.
