ITHACA, N.Y. -- Fresh off having six members of the 2010 Cornell men's track and field team earning All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association last week, the organization today announced that Cornell is one of 73 teams across the country to earn All-Academic status by posting a cumulative grade point average of better than 3.00 during the 2009-10 academic year.

Cornell's track and field team boasted a 3.08 grade point average as a unit in 2009-10, one of six Ivy League schools to be named to the USTFCCCA's All-Academic Team list. The six mentions by the Ivy League tie the Big 12 Conference for the most, though the Ivy League's 75 percent membership is far and away the greatest representation by any conference.

The women's All-Academic Team list will be announced on Wednesday.
