MAYAGUEZ, Puerto Rico -- Competing in both the long jump and triple jump, Cornell standout Muhammad Halim '08 earned a silver medal, along with a fifth place finish, at the Central American and Caribbean Championships (CAC) in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico last week.

Representing the US Virgin Island (he was born on St. Croix), Halim placed second in the long jump on Monday with a leap of 25-6 3/4, the second best performance of his career.

And then on Thursday evening, Halim placed fifth in the triple jump, reaching 53-8 1/4, his second best outdoor mark of 2010.
