ITHACA, N.Y. -- Rounding out the academic honors for the Cornell track and field program, the women's team was named an All-Academic team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the group announced on Wednesday. The Big Red joins 150 other Division I schools from around the country in earning the honor.

Cornell's women combined to post a 3.22 grade point average during the 2009-10 academic year, one of six Ivy League schools to be named to the list. The Big East led all conferences with 12 of its 16 members earning recognition.

To earn the distinction, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.00 for the academic year.
