Sang, ACU dominate Mule Run

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The ACU Wildcats' impressive start to the 2010 men's cross country season continued Friday night as they won the team title at the Central Missouri Mule Run.

Senior Amos Sang won the individual title – his second title in as many weeks after winning the Baylor Bear Invitational last Saturday – leading a group of four Wildcats who finished in the top 10 and five in the top 12.

ACU scored 28 points to win the team title, easily beating runner-up Central Missouri, which scored 44 points.  Missouri Southern was third with 107 points, followed by the Mules Track Club in fourth with 120 points and Dallas Baptist in fifth with 141 points.

Sang covered the four-mile course in 20:09.74 to win the individual title, beating teammate and runner-up Cleophas Tanui by more than 26 seconds (20:35.88).  Romain Rybicki was fourth in 20:50.73 with Jake Schofield finishing ninth in 21:54.39 and Will Pike finishing 12th in 22:03.93.

The men will return to action in two weeks (Saturday, Sept. 25) at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla.
