CHICAGO, ILL. -- Senior Casey McDermott (Newton, Iowa) paced the Drake women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish out of 41 teams in the Loyola Lakefront Invitational meet Saturday.

McDermott covered the 5,000 meter race in 18 minutes 21 seconds placing 16th. There were 511 runners in the race.

Senior Tara Scieszinski (Albia, Iowa) was 40th in 18:51, while freshman Erin Poss (Antioch, Ill.) was 48th in 18.55. Senior Meredith Bell (Cedar Rapids,Iowa) placed 63rd in 19:04 and senior Katie Coomer (Overland Park, Kan.) was 66th in 19:04.
