Oct. 19, 2010-- For the second straight week and the fifth time this season, North Central College's Amanda Laesch has been honored by the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin as the women's cross country Runner of the Week.

Laesch placed fourth among a field of 499 competitors at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational on Saturday at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. The senior traversed the 6,000-meter course in 21:39 which was the third fastest time among NCAA Division III competitors at the meet. Her performance helped the Cardinals finish 10th among the 36-team field, scoring 266 points.

Laesch has now claimed five of the seven CCIW Runner of the Week awards this season, also claiming the award on Oct. 12, Sept. 28, Sept. 21 and Sept. 8.

The Cardinals have the weekend off in preparation for the CCIW Championships on Oct. 30 at the Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill. where North Central will look to claim its second straight conference crown.
