The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced nearly 450 athletes who have earned All-Region awards for Division I following the NCAA Regional Championships.
The Big 12 Conference notched 34 women and 26 men on the list to lead all conferences in both categories.
The All-Region team recognizes athletes who finished in the top-25 individually at one of the nine regional sites.
Four Big 12 women's cross country teams and four men's teams have qualified for the 2010 NCAA Championships, including Oklahoma (men), Oklahoma State (men/women), Texas (men/women), Colorado (men), Texas Tech (women) and Iowa State (women).
Eight individuals from around the Big 12 Conference also earned NCAA bids, including Tara Upshaw (Texas A&M), Cate Westhenhover (Baylor), Robyn Bennett (Baylor), Laura Tremblay (Colorado), Laura Thweatt (Colorado), David Adams (Nebraska), Don Wasinger (Kansas) and Lara Crofford, (Nebraska).
Indiana State University will play host to the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on Monday, Nov. 22, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind. The women's race will begin at 11:08 p.m. Central, followed by the men's race at approximately 11:48 p.m.
A live webcast of the championships will be broadcast starting at 11:00 a.m. on NCAA.com.
