NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Members of the Savannah State track team participated in the Ed Temple Classic hosted by Tennessee State on the Wilma Rudolph Indoor Track in the Gentry Center.

Shawn Sovnenir and Melvin Winfrey represented the SSU men while Sharonda Redfield and Amber Hughes represented the SSU women.

All four participated in field events.

Sovnenir was third in the triple jump (47-08.50) and sixth in the long jump (22-09.75) while Winfrey placed ninth in the triple jump (37-03.75) and 20th in the long jump (18-06.00).

Redfield finished fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 39-10.50 and sixth in the long jump (18-01.50). Hughes was 11th in the long jump with a jump of 16-08.50.
