CLEMSON, S.C. - Finishing up their second day of competition at the JRF Combined Events Invitational, the Kennesaw State women’s track and field team saw several more personal records being set. During the first day, 10 personal records were shattered across a number of different events.

“This weekend was a solid performance all around,” head track and field coach Andy Eggerth said. “We are three weeks away from the conference championship, we are easing back on the training and that is evident in the records they are making. They have been working hard all fall so to actually see what they are doing works is great for all of them.”

In the second day of the Invitational, three Owls broke their personal records. Freshmen Heather Morris and Lauren Hutchinson set new bests for themselves in the 3,000 meters and pole vault, respectively. Morris’ time of 10:40.98 was good enough for ninth. Hutchinson cleared a height of 3 meters, which landed her in ninth place.

Joining Hutchinson in pole vault, sophomore Teresa Smith would find herself as the new owner of a personal record on Saturday. Clearing a height of 3.3 meters, it was good enough for sixth place.

Having already set a personal record on Friday, Victoria Jackson was back on the track this time in the 200 meters. She and teammate Cynthia Davis would crack the top ten with Davis in sixth and Jackson eighth, respectively.

The field events saw a lot of success Saturday as well. Landing a 5.51 meter jump, LaShanna Barchue finished first in her flight and came in fourth overall. In high jump, Michelle Quimby sailed over a height of 1.60 meters, finishing in fifth place. Jessica Lumpkin found herself in third place with a top distance of 16.47 meters in the weight throw while teammate Suzee Mills finished ninth with a distance of 14.70 meters.
