CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Senior Mary Goldkamp (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) finished second in the mile and fellow senior Lauren Fog (Harvard, Ill./Harvard) captured fifth in the 3,000 meters to highlight action at the Illinois Intercollegiates for the Bradley track and field team Saturday at the U of I Armory.
Goldkamp clocked a season-best time of 5:05.40 in the mile to finish six seconds behind Illinois State's Aisha Praught in second place. Freshman Cassie Lohmeier (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) ran the mile for the first time this season and finished 10th with a time of 5:20.83. Three other Bradley runners turned in season-best times in the mile, paced by freshman Sarah Higgins (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) who ran a 5:28.97 to finish 17th.
Three Braves ran the 3,000 meters for the first time this season, paced by Fog who finished fifth with a time of 10:39.68.
In the 800 meters, junior Michelle Hartman (Savanna, Ill./Prince of Peace) clocked a season-best time of 2:25.35, while fellow junior Tatierra Bivens (Chicago, Ill./Marist) had a season-best effort of 29.85 in the 200 meters. Junior Lyndsey Cleghorn (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) highlighted the field events for Bradley with a season-best leap of 1.56 meters in the high jump.
Goldkamp was also part of a 4x400 relay team which finished sixth with a season-best 4:11.84. Joining Goldkamp on the 4x400 relay team were Lohmeier, Hartman and freshman Emily Wolbers (Moline, Ill./Moline).
Bradley returns to action next Saturday at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
