Racing Bulldogs Compete in Tennessee State Invitational

NASHVILLE – The Alabama A&M men’s and women’s indoor track teams competed in the Tennessee State University Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 29th.

In women’s competition freshman Brittany Scott lead the Maroon & White finishing 26th in the 200 meter run. In the 400 meter run freshman Raven Dove was the highest finisher for A&M with a time of 1:05.52 which placed her 29th out of 40 runners.

Sophomore Shaquina Phalo picked up where she left off last season placing fifth in the 800 meter run.
Junior Dominique McCord rounded out the Lady Bulldogs with an eighth place finish in the shot put with a distance of 10.93 meters.

On the men’s side junior Sean Delisser placed ninth in the 55 meter run with a time of 6.54. In the 800 Reginal Sanders, a junior, recorded a 2:01.07 time for a ninth place finish.

Sophomore Darius McDaniel ran an 8.32 in the 55 meter hurdles which was good enough for tenth place the highest of any of the racing Bulldogs. Junior Nathan Stevens tied for eighth in the high jump with a distance of 1.82 meters. Stevens also competed and placed in the shot put with a distance of 10.56 meters for his second 8th place finish of the day.

Freshman Jonathan Sanford topped the day off with a fifth place ending to the men’s triple jump with a career best jump of 13.07 meters.

Next up for the Racing Bulldogs a trip to Clemson, South Carolina on Feb. 19 to compete in the Tiger Tune-up before the SWAC Indoor Championships.
