JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Kennesaw State men’s track and field team had two first place finishes in the final day of the Niswonger Invitational Saturday. Closing out their final meet before heading into conference, the group will get a week off before gearing up for the conference championship.

“It was a very solid performance across the board this weekend,” head track and field coach Andy Eggerth said. “As we have been getting better each week, we just hope that everyone continues to set new records and improve. We have next weekend off and should be good going into conference in two weeks.”

Breaking a school record yesterday, Anjoun Armaly kicked off the weekend strong in the triple jump. His top jump of 15.03 shattered his previously owned record of 14.29 meters. Antonio Logan, Sadio Diallo and Jemir Martinez set their own personal records all in the 200 meters.

Continuing their success into day two of competition, Gianni Catalano and Kendall Parks are the proud new owners of first place finishes on the weekend. Catalano in the last 200 meters was able to overcome his opponent to cross the line first in 1:55.66. Parks, who qualified yesterday for the finals Saturday, blew out the competition in his heat and came in first overall in 8.17 seconds.

Setting a new season best, Cameron Zeman gave himself a new height in the high jump. His leap over the bar set at 2.03 meters was good enough for third place.

The team will be stationary for a week before heading back to ETSU to participate in the Atlantic Sun Indoor Conference Championship Feb. 18-19.
