CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — In the team's final meet of the regular indoor season, senior Sarah Cline ran a season-best time to finish third in the 3000 meters as the Davidson Wildcat women's track and field team competed at the Dick Taylor UNC Invitational Saturday afternoon on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Cline was the Wildcats' top finisher of the day, turning in a season-best time of 10:25.31 to finish third in the 3000 meters, just ahead of Heather Conarroe, who was fifth with a time of 10:28.90. Freshman Megan Mavity (ninth, 10:52.90), sophomore Anna Armistead (14th, 11:14.61) and freshman Catherine Doyle (16th, 11:44.78) also competed for the Wildcats in the event.

Junior Jane Gay led the Wildcats in a pair of events, finishing ninth in the 600 meters with a time of 1:46.95 and 19th in the mile with a time of 5:31.26. Freshman Lydia McAliley finished right behind Gay in the 600 meters with a time of 1:48.03, and sophomore Jena Manilla was 12th in the event with a time of 1:55.96. In the mile, freshman Maggie Rickard was the Wildcats' second-best finisher with a time of 5:43.55 to finish 22nd, ahead of sophomore Haley Holway (5:48.78, 26th).

Freshman MacKenzie Hicks finished 19th in the 60 meters with a time of 8.69 and 23rd in the 200 meters with a time of 27.50. Sophomore Ana Rodriguez placed 23rd in the 400 meters with a time of 1:09.80, and junior Brooke Senken followed in 25th with a time of 1:10.29. Junior Erin Lupfer finished seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters.

With the regular season complete, the Wildcats will turn their attention to the 2011 Indoor SoCon Championships, opening on Saturday, February 26 in Clemson, S.C. Davidson begins the outdoor season at the Charlotte 49er Classic on March 18.
