Cardinals Earn Team Academic Award

USTFCCCA Team All-Academic

Feb. 17, 2011-- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association unveiled its Team Academic Award winners for the 2010 season on Friday with the North Central College men's cross country squad among the 125 teams to be honored for its commitment to academic and athletic excellence.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team grade point average of 3.10 or better and have compiled a score (finished at least five runners) at their respective NCAA regional championship.

The Cardinals compiled a team GPA of 3.13 and was one of five College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin squads to earn Team Academic honors. Also earning the distinction was Augustana College, Elmhurst College, Illinois Wesleyan University and Wheaton College.

North Central claimed its 37th consecutive CCIW title in 2010 before winning the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional and placing second at the NCAA Division III National Championships with four runners earning All-American status.
