Kluckhohn Named Midwest Region Coach of the Year

Mar. 9, 2011-- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its regional Coach of the Year recipients on Wednesday with North Central College women's track & field coach Kari Kluckhohn earning the honor for the Midwest Region.

Kluckhohn claims the award after guided the sixth-ranked Cardinals to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Indoor Championship on Feb. 26 as North Central dominated the team standings by outscoring runner-up Illinois Wesleyan University by 117 points. After the meet Kluckhohn and her staff were honored as the CCIW Coaching Staff of the Year.

It is the second time she has been honored as the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Coach of the Year, also earning the award during the 2007 indoor season.

Under Kluckhohn's guidance the Cardinals will look to secure its fourth top 10 finish over the last six years with six entrants at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in Columbus, Ohio on Friday and Saturday.
