Bison Men Open Outdoor Season at Baldy Castillo Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - Four members of the North Dakota State men's track and field team cracked the school's all-time top 10 list at the outdoor season-opening Baldy Castillo Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.

Senior Eric Stroh led the way, finishing second in the 800 meters in a personal best time of 1:49.96.  His time is ranked fourth in school history as he becomes the fourth Bison to run under 1 minute 50 seconds.

Sophomore Moses Heppner took fourth in the 800 meters in a time of 1:50.65, which is seventh all-time at NDSU.  Redshirt freshman Alec Espeland was fifth in 1:51.36, just missing out on the all-time top 10.

In the 110 meter hurdles, sophomore Matt Tetzlaff ran a time of 14:35 to finish third.  The time is tied for fifth in school history.  He also finished fourth in the 400 hurdles in 53.53.

Senior Logan Hollenkamp also joined the ranks of personal best marks with a throw of 184 feet 10 inches in the hammer.  The mark is third all-time.

The Bison also posted top three finishes in the long jump and high jump.  Senior Ted Rud claimed third in long jump with a mark of 23-2 1/2, while junior Jeramy Geditz tied for third in the high jump with a mark of 6-6 3/4.

The team now has a week off before hosting the NDSU Invitational at the Ellig Sports Complex on April 2.
