AUBURN, Ala. - Wrapping up the final meet of the outdoor season prior to the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Conference Championship, the Kennesaw State women’s track and field team set several personal bests at the Auburn Tiger Track Classic, Friday and Saturday.

Competing against some of the top school from around the South such as Duke, Georgia Tech, Alabama and host Auburn, the team was still able to set new bests for themselves going into the homestretch into conference.

Racing in the 100 meter dash, Victoria Jackson set a new season best with a 12.10 second run. Her finish was good enough for 11th. She also set an outdoor best in the 200 meters with a 25.56 finishing time.

In the 400 meter hurdles, sophomore Tai Dorsett set a new personal record for herself, finishing 1:04.23 good enough for 14th place.  Dorsett’s time is currently four seconds off of the school record of 1:01.49.

Tying her season highest in pole vault, Michelle Quimby had a solid showing in the event on Saturday. Her top height of 3.55 meters was good enough for eighth place. Teammate Teresa Smith got a personal record in the pole vault as well, clearing a height of 3.40 meters for 17th place.

The team gets a little bit of a break not having competition next weekend. They will resume at the A-Sun Outdoor Conference Championships in Deland, Fla. at the University of North Florida on April 15-16.
