SPARTANBURG, S.C. –
Davidson relay teams claimed the top two places in the 4x1600-meter relay and freshman Stewart Dalton won the long jump to lead the Wildcats men's track and field team at the Terrier Relays hosted by Wofford College Saturday at Viking Track.

Dalton won the long jump with a leap of 21-8 (6.60m).

The Wildcats claimed the top two places in the 4x1600-meter relay as the 'Cats' “B” squad (Vincent Weir, Demetrios Pagonis, Wes Reynolds and Ehsan Akbari) won in 17:56.84, while the “A” team (Ian Tupper, Jonathan Kock, Landry Bennet and Greg Marcil) took second in 18:05.09.

The 'Cats' “A” squad (Will Mitchell, JinHan Justin Song, Andrew Lantz and Charlie Schmitt) took second in the distance medley relay in 10:20.37, which ranks as the third fastest time in school history, and the “B” team (Wes Reynolds, Nate Faubion, Landry Bennett and Grayam Sailor-Tynes) took third in 10:46.62.

Davidson teams took second and third place in the 4x800-meter relay, as well, with a pair of Davidson all-time top-10 performances. The 'Cats' “B” squad (Will Mitchell, Jonathan Koch, Nate Faubion and Andrew Lantz) finished in 7:54.87, while the “A” squad (Charlie Schmitt, Ian Tupper, Demetrios Pagonis and Grayam Sailor-Tynes) took third in 7:59.08.

The Wildcats also had a pair of strong individual performances. Junior Taylor Martin placed third in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.83, and freshman Michael Lorentsen placed sixth in the pole vault at 12-5 ½ (3.80m) to crack Davidson's all-time top-10 performers list in the event.

Davidson will next compete at both the Duke Invitational (Friday and Saturday) and the Johnson C. Smith University Invitational (Saturday).
