RIVERDALE, N.Y. - For the second straight week to open the outdoor season, Manhattan College sophomore sprinter Cara Rostant (Valley Stream, N.Y.) has been named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Track & Field Performer of the Week.
Rostant finished first in the 400 meters at the Sam Howell Invitational in Princeton, N.J., on Saturday. She led a 1-2 Manhattan finish in the event with an ECAC-qualifying time of 55.22 seconds. Heidy Palacios (Yonkers, N.Y.) claimed second in 56.32 seconds. Rostant had already qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 200 meters.
On Saturday, Manhattan returns to action at the FDU Track Classic, which gets underway at 9 a.m.
