May 3, 2011--
The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced its Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday with North Central College sweeping the awards. Sheila Walsh was honored as the Track Athlete of the Week while Kayla Murphy earned Field Athlete of the Week.

Walsh wins the honor after clocking a season best time in the 400-meter dash at the Benedictine University Twilight Invitational on Friday, finishing in a provisional qualifying time of 56.70. Her time is currently the 11th fastest time in NCAA Division III this season. The senior additionally logged a second place finish in the 200-meter dash, crossing the tape in 26.05.

Murphy earns Field Athlete of the Week honors after placing second in the pole vault at the BU Twilight meet. Murphy cleared 11 feet 3 3/4 inches in the vault a mark that is currently tied for first on the CCIW outdoor honor roll. The junior also turned in a pair of impressive performances on the track, winning the 200-meters in 25.44 while helping the 4x100-meter relay team to the victory, finishing in 48.90.

North Central amassed 170.5 points to win the 14-team Benedictine Twilight, the team's final tune-up before the CCIW Outdoor Championships. The championships get underway on Friday at the Paul V. Olsen Track in Rock Island, Ill.
