MACON, Ga.- Two Kennesaw State track and field athletes were named Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday. Kendall Parks was given his second such honor of the season while Michelle Quimby receives her first. Both had strong performances over the weekend at the Florida State Twilight meet.

"It is wonderful to have two athletes named to the conference list this week," head track and field coach Andy Eggerth said. "Michelle is very close to performing lifetime bests and things are really starting to click and be consistant. Kendall is taking his skill up a notch and showed with consistency that he is no longer a 14 second hurdler. I believe he will move through the NCAA Preliminaries in a couple weeks to compete in the first round of the NCAA Championships."

Already a conference champion in the 110 meter hurdles, Parks added breaking the school record this weekend to his extensive resume. Finishing in a  time of 13.85 seconds, Parks broke his already held school mark on his way to a second place finish.

In her second season as an Owl, Quimby continues to improve with two top five finishes over the weekend. She placed fourth in the pole vault with a 3.66 meter top clearing. Backing it up, Quimby finished fourth in the high jump, clearing a top bar of 1.65 meters.

Competing in their final meet of the season, the Owls travel to Clemson Friday and Saturday for a final chance to qualify for NCAA Preliminaries.
