NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships Qualifiers

May 22, 2011 - The North Central College women's track and field team will compete in eight events at the upcoming NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships. The official list of qualifiers was announced on Sunday.

The Cardinals will have nine total entries in the meet. North Central has two qualifiers in the 400-meter dash, as Sheila Walsh is the seventh-fastest qualifier in the field (56.23 seconds) and Lauren Brightmore is 16th (56.77). Brightmore and Walsh will team with Krista Cota and Linnea Higgins to compete in the 4x400-meter relay. The quartet qualified with the eighth-fastest time (3:49.95). Cota will also compete in the 800-meter run, having qualified 21st with a time of 2:13.48.

Amanda Laesch will compete in two events at the championships, qualifying seventh in the 5,000 meters (17:02.84) and eighth in the 10,000 meters (35:41.35). 

Brianna Tolliver will be making her first trip to the championships in the javelin throw, qualifying 12th with a distance of 138 feet, one inch, as will Kayla Murphy in the 200-meter dash (25.16) and Alicia Zimmerman in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:59.54).
